I don’t think there is any need to explain how important PageRank is. Look at the first sentences and read along:

I want that too, but it is not so easy to achieve at all. I think that hard work and many hours spent on web development will give you some success.

* Get links from old and highly trusted domains.

Good point, but how can I make this work ?

* Get site-wide links from a huge site with 150,000+ pages (a large forum perhaps).
* Get a few deep links from relevant articles or content.

* No massive and low-level directory submissions.

Don’t use those massive link add tools out there. Try to add your site to only good, large and popular directories. Adding your site to every directory may not be as much of a benefit as you may have thought!

* Avoid link exchanges, esp. from new domains.

You can exchange links but only with old websites, blogs that have some PR and have been online for sometime.
